Planview, N.Y. - July 31, 2020 – General Security, a nationally recognized security provider specializing in the design, installation and service of cutting-edge, state-of-the-art security systems for residential and commercial clientele, has acquired three security companies in little more than 12 months.
Triad Security Systems, S&F Technologies, and Authentic Alarm were acquired in June 2020, July 2019, and May 2019, respectively. These additions position General Security to better serve New York and New Jersey commercial and residential customers, provide telecom and IT services, and further broaden its wide range of smart home technologies.
The acquisitions were also discussed in a recent article by security system channel publication SDM.
Triad Security Systems
General Security purchased Union, N.J.-based Triad Security Systems to create a fully staffed New Jersey branch offering additional commercial technologies focused on access control, fire alarms, burglary protection, video surveillance, and intercom/entrance systems.
Triad’s residential customers can also access General Security’s Alarm.com-powered smart home technologies, such as video analytics, remote video monitoring, and wellness and energy management systems.
“We have been working throughout New Jersey for a while now installing commercial fire solutions, and it was a great fit for us to efficiently expand further into this region,” explains John A. Lupino, the company’s general manager. “Triad brings us an excellent management team along with experienced commercial sales professionals in the New Jersey market. It presented a great opportunity and opened the door to provide more effective coverage, additional products and customer service in this area.”
These additions position General Security to better serve New York and New Jersey commercial and residential customers.
S&F Technologies
Hudson, N.Y.-based S&F Technologies expands General Security’s reach between Albany and Long Island. The transaction bolsters its telecom and IT product offerings, such as networking and wireless solutions, integration software, data backups, and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
“Everyone at General Security was very attracted to this opportunity,” says Lupino. “In the last year, we’ve successfully integrated all of our current systems within S&F’s operations. We look forward to them imparting some of their knowledge in bringing these new technology products to market.”
Authentic Alarm
In May 2019, General Security purchased Pomona, N.Y.-based Authentic Alarm to increase its Rockland County footprint. Services include residential and commercial burglar alarms and fire alarms.
“This was another area where we wanted to have a density of accounts,” continues Lupino. “The previous owner took great pride in his work and installations, and we look forward to fully servicing this location.”
